WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 2.1 Major improvements:
- Open files backup using the Volume Shadow Copy service
- Individual file compression for Backup Tasks with ZIP compression or AES encryption
- A new feature for Tasks with scheduler which enables Titan Backup to wake up the computer from Standby/Hibernate before running the Task
- Firefox 3 support
Minor improvements and tweaks:
- Speed optimizations for Sync Tasks with masks and Sync Tasks with large numbers of files
- Added some new status messages for time consuming operations at Sync Tasks and Backup Tasks with compression so that the application doesn't appear to be hung during Task execution
- Changed the appearance of the Task Summary window so that it is easier to see if a Task ended successfully, with warnings or with errors
- Added a new command-line option ("/DECRYPT") to decrypt AES archives when the TBT file is lost
- Added a new command-line option ("/RUNTASKSILENT") to run Tasks without user consent
- The user can choose if he wants to start the program with administrative rights or not on Windows Vista (intended for users with UAC enabled that don't want to be prompted for consent every time the program starts)
- Fixed DEP compatibility issues on Windows Vista as there were users that reported the program would not start
- Fixed a bug for Tasks with Searchable Masks and Inclusion/Exclusion Masks that caused nothing to be backed up
- Fixed a bug for Sync Tasks with masks that caused long duration for the Task's execution
- Fixed a bug for Sync Tasks with file comparison set only to Date. Although the CRC wasn't taken into consideration, it was calculated for each file, a process which makes the Task's execution to last much longer than it should
- Fixed a compatibility problem with Windows NT 4 users as the program would not start due to the fact that some Windows APIs
aren't available on NT. The program works fine now on Windows NT.
